-  Why is it so important to eat fruits and vegetables?

To put it simply, they provide us with many nutrients essential for the proper functioning of the body:

  1. Firstly, they are rich in water: they can contain up to 95%. They thus contribute to the coverage of our water needs of the day.
  2. They are also an excellent source of a variety of vitamins: for certain vitamin C, but also beta-carotene, vitamin E and B vitamins, notwithstanding their rich mineral content: for example, potassium, magnesium, iron, calcium or phosphorus.
  3. Fruits and vegetables also contain a significant amount of fibre that helps regulate our digestion and reduce cravings.
  4. Finally, fruits and vegetables also provide us with polyphenols and carotenoids. These are elements that neutralise the action of free radicals responsible for premature aging of our cells.

All for a very discreet energy intake: fruit and vegetables are indeed naturally low in calories.
